RESPECT! That is what women deserve in the sneaker community so my goal is for you to meet some of these women via my blog so you can get an understanding on how they feel. There are 3 major questions that come to mind for this topic:
What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?
Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?
If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?
Who else is better to learn from then the women within the community? Today we will hear from Aisha, a mother and a sneakerhead whose style shines brightly!! Let’s see what respect female sneakerheads means to her!
What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?
Respecting Female Sneakerheads means to me making sure that more women’s voices are heard in the billion dollar business that is sneakers. We are now becoming the driving force behind the business but where we really need to be is behind the corporation desk and in the board rooms.
Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?
She’s very humble about her style and impact, but I follow a young woman named Dalisha (Instagram: @dali_J). Her personal style and personality is of course a plus. But also, she just had a Sneaker Drive. Fly girls with big hearts will always be my favorites!
If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?
Ha! Freebies are cool but these brands need to start coughing up money. Especially for black and brown women who have such heavy influences on most pop culture and trends.
Hearing these words from different women in the sneaker community is so inspiring! Each lady brings a different view point and perspective. Aisha definitely hit on a good point, everyone loves freebies but pay us what we deserve for what we bring to the table! I hope my blog can help give more women the voice they deserve and to be seen in a way they deserve!
