RESPECT! That is what women deserve in the sneaker community so my goal is for you to meet some of these women via my blog so you can get an understanding on how they feel. There are 3 major questions that come to mind for this topic:
What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?
Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?
If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?
Who else is better to learn from then the women within the community? Today we will hear from Catalina, a woman who has an amazing collection and shows so much support to other women in the community. Let’s see what respect female sneakerheads means to her!

What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?
Like with many other societal views with woman, we are seen as the “underdog”. It’s not different with woman here in the sneaker community. I think the sneaker game has been male dominated since the beginning – with most popular sneakers being from male athletes, the whole game is geared toward men. Respect Female Sneakerheads provides an opportunity to see females respected and seen in a community that has been dominated by men in the past. We have been in the shadow for so long, it’s a beautiful opportunity to just see women getting the love and attention we deserve. I’ve been so inspired by so many women on the respect female sneakerhead page that I probably would have never come across but it’s such a blessing to see women with the same interest shine.
Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?
I am new to the community so I really can’t pick just one but there have been many females showing me the ropes and showing love and it’s a beautiful thing. From some of my NYC Sneakerheads who welcomed me with open arms: @SeeThemShoes, @Shortshooter_Steph, @stylishhobby26 to even those across the state like @locked_n_laced787 and @JuscallmeNicki these are the females that have helped me grow and become some of my sisters in the sneaker community.
If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?
Not being compared to men in the community. We are here as woman and we are holding our own and I’ve seen woman with incredible collections I wouldn’t have otherwise seen if it weren’t for you guys at RFS. Shout out to all the female sneakerheads. We are coming for all the crowns. Give the woman the platform they deserve. They say one hand washes the other but both hands wash the face and I just hope everyone is ready 🧡. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my vision on your platform. Blessings on blessings to everyone in this community.

Hearing these words from different women in the sneaker community is so inspiring! Each lady brings a different view point and perspective. Catalina definitely hit on a very good point, don’t compare us to men, we hold it down on our own! I hope my blog can help give more women the voice they deserve and to be seen in a way they deserve!
