Meet Ashlie

RESPECT! That is what women deserve in the sneaker community so my goal is for you to meet some of these women via my blog so you can get an understanding on how they feel. There are 3 major questions that come to mind for this topic:

What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?

Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?

If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?

Who else is better to learn from then the women within the community? Today we will hear from Ashlie, founder of @keepsomecutekicks . Let’s see what respect female sneakerheads means to her

What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?

GIVE US OUR CREDIT, females run the sneaker game. We give sneakers style, and we are also a large portion of the sneaker consumers. Im happy to see we are finally getting credit and a seat at the table.

Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?

@melissachanel I love how kicks & fros uplifts and empowers women through sneakers. It brings us together and I admire how she’s built her brand from the ground up. I recently had a chance to slide to Charlotte and the girls were fly in their sneakers. I felt like apart of that is her mark!

If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?

I’d love to see the larger brands not cater to males so much in advertising, even some women’s sneakers are clearly advertised by men on the larger brand websites. I think the female sneaker community is growing by leaps and bounds but I think we’d see more growth if the sneakers were advertised by us!

Hearing these words from different women in the sneaker community is so inspiring! Each lady brings a different view point and perspective. Catalina definitely hit on a very good point, let the women advertise these sneakers especially the ones for us, brands can definitely do a better job with that! I hope my blog can help give more women the voice they deserve and to be seen in a way they deserve!
