Meet Ash!

RESPECT! That is what women deserve in the sneaker community so my goal is for you to meet some of these women via my blog so you can get an understanding on how they feel. There are 3 major questions that come to mind for this topic:

What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?

Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?

If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?

Who else is better to learn from then the women within the community? Today we will hear from Asheley McMath, a woman who loves sneakers and shows so much support to other women in the sneaker community! Let’s hear what respect female sneakerheads means to her!

What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?

Respect for female sneakerhead to me means buying what sneakers you like and rocking them the way you like. Women designers are the best to do it with the fashion and sneakers so you have to Respect our impact!

Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?

To be honest there are so many women in this community that I have been able to connect with who I all admire and love to support. The person I know who got me started is no one famous or a social media heavy it’s my mom. My mom has always and still has one of the dopest sneaker collections.

If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?

The one thing that comes to mind is being equal. There are so many female creators and innovators that inspire male content. I currently work in a male dominant field and it’s just like sneaker community when it comes to women, the treatment is not the same. Women are not here to compete or compare we are here to show we have the same love for sneakers.

Hearing these words from different women in the sneaker community is so inspiring! Each lady brings a different view point and perspective. Ash makes an excellent point, women are not here to compete or compare, we are showing people we have the same love for sneakers !! I truly hope these words from words from Ash gave you some good insight on where she stands! Just because sneakers still seems like a male dominated space, doesn’t mean women don’t influence and contribute just as much as men do.
