RESPECT! That is what women deserve in the sneaker community so my goal is for you to meet some of these women via my blog so you can get an understanding on how they feel. There are 3 major questions that come to mind for this topic:
What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?
Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?
If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?
Who else is better to learn from then the women within the community? Today we will hear from Christina, also known as @kickinitwithchristy . Let’s see what respect female sneakerheads means to her.

What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?
Respect female sneakerheads means to respect the women who are in the sneaker community. It means accepting us for who we are and not diminishing our presence or knowledge in this space because we aren’t men. It means supporting women who love sneakers all the time and not only when it’s convenient for you.
Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?
I look up to Christina of @if_I_cant_wear_snkrs . She has garnered a great following and despite her busy schedule, she finds time to drop release info and share real-time updates on drop day. Not only does she provide drop info but she has continues to uplift women in the sneaker community and creating a place that allows other like-minded women to meet each other and share their love for sneakers.
If you could change one thing about how women are treated and or perceived in sneaker community, what would it be?
Three things (sorry I can’t pick one haha)
1. If I could change something, it would be the perception that women don’t know what’s up in the sneaker game. I’ve been in the game long enough to be questioned by men about how many rings MJ has to see if it’s valid to be wearing Jordans but you’d never hear a man ask another man that. We love sneakers and we know just as much as the next person.
2. I would also want to change the perception of resell culture – cancel it all together but at the same time, it’s sickening how men will intentionally purchase smaller sizes to resell them at a higher value than market price simply because they know women want the pairs.
3. Equality for all women in this space. Often times, when we think about women in sneakers, the focus automatically shifts to the small feet gang. However, women aren’t just limited to the small feet gang and I know when women releases don’t come in extended sizes, some of my friends can’t get the pairs they want to rock. It’s important to have these women releases after excluding women from this space for so long, but I’d also love to see these drops being inclusive for all and not just one group of women in sneakers!

Hearing these words from different women in the sneaker community is so inspiring! Each lady brings a different view point and perspective. Christina definitely hit 3 very good points. I hope my blog can help give more women the voice they deserve and to be seen in a way they deserve!
