RESPECT! That is what women deserve in the sneaker community so my goal is for you to meet some of these women via my blog so you can get an understanding on how they feel. There are 3 major questions that come to mind for this topic:
What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?
Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?
If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?
Who else is better to learn from then the women within the community? Today we will hear from Kiondra, a woman who has a unique style and an amazing sneaker collection!! Let’s see what respect female sneakerheads means to her.
What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?
Respect female sneakerheads means know that a woman can love sneakers just as much, if not more, than a man and there is nothing wrong with it. Sneakers aren’t gender specific! Women have always played an integral part in sneaker culture, and it is nice that we are finally being acknowledged. I have been collecting for over 20 years and in a male dominated space, you have to respect me!
Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?
This question is always hard because I don’t say I look up to people, and I wouldn’t be able to pinpoint just one woman. I do admire every woman I follow and encounter in the sneaker community. We each bring our own uniqueness and gifts, and that is what I admire.
If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?
I would love to change the perception that sneakers aren’t sexy. I can rock my 4in heels or some sneakers and I’m sexy in both. I want men to stop shaming women for loving their sneakers!
Hearing these words from different women in the sneaker community is so inspiring! Each lady brings a different view point and perspective. Kiondra definitely hit on a good point, whether it’s sneaker or heels we look sexy in both! I hope my blog can help give more women the voice they deserve and to be seen in a way they deserve!
