RESPECT! That is what women deserve in the sneaker community so my goal is for you to meet some of these women via my blog so you can get an understanding on how they feel. There are 3 major questions that come to mind for this topic:
What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?
Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?
If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?
Who else is better to learn from then the women within the community? Today we will hear from Kiah also known as @simplykiah on IG! Her personality draws you in when you watch her content and if you haven’t seen her sneaker facts you may not have known you are truly missing out! Let’s see what respect female sneakerheads means to her!

What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?
Respect female sneakerheads, to me, means we’re here to stay. We’re not a trend or seasonal. We don’t need to be questioned whether our love for sneakers is authentic, and we should unapologetically demand that we’re represented fairly. We love what we love so put some respect on our names.
Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?
There are so many amazing women in the sneaker community who are doing great things. For me, these women are @chicinsneaks with her storytelling, @sneakerfreaksyd who keeps us abreast on new updates within the social world (check out @digital_319), @sneakervibesonly who provides a positive space where we can discuss our mental health,… the list goes on. Collectively, I am inspired and it reinforces we are powerful, creative and innovative.
If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?
If I could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community it would be for us to be more included. I would love to see more representation in campaigns and ideally, not have brands default to the idea of what a female sneakerhead should be. We come in many different shapes, forms and interests, and that should be celebrated.

Hearing these words from different women in the sneaker community is so inspiring! Each lady brings a different view point and perspective. Kiah definitely hit on a good point about brands defaulting to what a female sneakerhead supposedly looks like, we have to step outside of that; we all deserve a chance to be seen!. I hope my blog can help give more women the voice they deserve and to be seen in a way they deserve!
