RESPECT! That is what women deserve in the sneaker community so my goal is for you to meet some of these women via my blog so you can get an understanding on how they feel. There are 3 major questions that come to mind for this topic:
What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?
Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?
If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?
Who else is better to learn from then the women within the community? Today we will hear from Kay, let’s see what respect female sneakerheads means to her.

What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?
Respect is more than just saying it’s ok that we buy/collect sneakers. It’s about listening to us, learning what we bring to the community. Holding your tongue and hearing about what females in this space are doing. Women have impacted this game in many ways if you take the time to learn.
Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?
One woman who I look up to is RicanPowerGirl on IG. She’s a small business owner. It takes courage and drive to take that step to leave a steady job and start something that’s completely yours. She also gives back to her community. She has a big heart. I also look up to Melody Ehsani for her role in being the femininity in the sneaker game. In a similar way to how FUBU and Sean John defined fashion for men in the 90s, she has stamped herself as that person for the females in the game today.
If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?
I will throw it back to allies of the female sneakerhead community. Be more vocal. Support your female friends and family members; or even a female sneakerhead page you vibe with, shout her out. As much as we all need to support and uplift each other, our allies also need to do the same.

Hearing these words from different women in the sneaker community is so inspiring! Each lady brings a different view point and perspective. Kay hits on a good point, we need the support from our allies! I hope my blog can help give more women the voice they deserve and to be seen in a way they deserve!
