RESPECT! That is what women deserve in the sneaker community so my goal is for you to meet some of these women via my blog so you can get an understanding on how they feel. There are 3 major questions that come to mind for this topic:
What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?
Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?
If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?
Who else is better to learn from then the women within the community? Today we will hear from Estefania Rangel, also known as @shortshooter_steph . She always blows her followers away with her dope photos and amazing outfits! Let’s hear what respect female sneakerheads means to her!

What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?
It’s means including us in the conversation. Being a female sneakerhead is incredible and I love the fact that I can be a part and share this with other amazing females. But for me it’s allowing us as females to have a seat at the table. It’s time to stop categorizing us and giving us the respect we deserve. Let’s stop the narrative of the same “women exclusive sneaker” and it being the same girly pink styles. There needs to be more inclusivity when in comes to sneakers and also in general. But when it comes to us females stop putting us in a category and stereotyping us a “female sneakerheads”. We are more than just females sneakerheads, it’s time to recognize that.
Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?
I can’t just bring it down to one person. I’m blessed enough to have gotten to know so many great and inspirational women in the sneaker community. Each and every single woman I have crossed paths with has inspired and just encourage me to be who I am and express who I am. With that said I will say @key2ursole @efiorentino @mvpz_ @_britenkee have made me feel welcomed and love. But also special shout-out to @vweathershr for really bringing us female sneakerheads together with Lady Sneakerhead Conversations! Really happy that I’ve watched it and gotten to know more amazing women because of it!!
If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?
For me, I want to speak about the categorization of it. Instead of thinking of us as “Female Sneakerheads” think of us as what we are SNEAKERHEADS! Because unfortunately when some hear the term Female Sneakerhead you automatically put us in a category. We are more than just that, we have knowledge, we have power and we are so much more. Like I said in the first question it’s time to stop putting us in a category we deserved a seat at the table. Although I feel like we achieving said more needs to be done and we will get there. We are already proving it and breaking barriers and I’m so glad to be apart of it.

Estefania shares some amazing points, some people treat us different because of the “female sneakerhead” category we are put in. At the end of the day we are just sneakerheads! We deserve respect in all areas within the sneaker community ! I truly hope these words from words from Estefania gave you some good insight on where she stands! We will continue to show up and show others how amazing and talented we we truly are!
