RESPECT! That is what women deserve in the sneaker community so my goal is for you to meet some of these women via my blog so you can get an understanding on how they feel. There are 3 major questions that come to mind for this topic:
What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?
Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?
If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?
Who else is better to learn from then the women within the community? Today we will hear from Courtney, aka @sassyinsneaks . Let’s see what Respect Female Sneakerheads means to her!

What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?
Respect female sneakerheads to me means exactly that. Women are just as fly as men and we should be treated as equals. We deserve to be seen, acknowledged, and respected.
Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?
There are so many people I admire in the sneaker community! I know this is cheating but if I had to narrow it down, I’d have to go with Ny (@solelyaboutnyyyy), Melissa Carnegie (@melissachanel/@kicksandfros), and Christina (if_i_cant_wear_snkrs). They’re just really dope women! I love that they’re using their platforms to uplift women, build community, and create safe spaces!
If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?
I would change what the sneaker community deems as feminine when it comes to sneaker releases. Many women’s releases consist of the same, stereotypical designs (i.e. pink, glitter, etc). Also, the sneaker community shouldn’t be gender biased and should have more inclusion when it comes to sneaker designs and releases. I’ve missed out on many releases because sizing started at a 7. I feel if women were more involved in that regard, we would have more access to styles and size availabilities. The sneaker community is making strides, but there’s still opportunity for growth.

Hearing these words from different women in the sneaker community is so inspiring! Each lady brings a different view point and perspective. Courtney made a good point, inclusion is important, and so many women who wear smaller sizes miss out so there is definitely still room for growth in how things are done!! I hope my blog can help give more women the voice they deserve and to be seen in a way they deserve!
