RESPECT! That is what women deserve in the sneaker community so my goal is for you to meet some of these women via my blog so you can get an understanding on how they feel. There are 3 major questions that come to mind for this topic:
What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?
Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?
If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?
Who else is better to learn from then the women within the community? Today we will hear from Ashleigh, a woman whose love for sneakers started in 2022 but what shines bright about her is her passion and she always shows love to others! She gives us so many good looks paired with different kicks; let’s see what respect female sneakerheads means to her!
What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?
It’s means building each other up and recognizing the female contribution to the sneaker culture and how it enhances the overall culture.
Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?
I look up to This Chicks Got Kicks! Her style seems effortless and so much fun. She puts together fun fits and I also am loving her Kick’in Corporate series as I am in the corporate world on a daily basis and rock my kicks there myself. Of course as a photographer her pics are on another level!!
If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?
I would like to see more women designers of sneakers. We’ve had some good ones in Melody Eshani, Teyana Taylor, Aleali May, and Rihanna but I think there are many more out there and would love to see them shine.
Hearing these words from different women in the sneaker community is so inspiring! Each lady brings a different view point and perspective. Ashleigh point on wanting to see more women designers in this space is so loud because it has been a long over due thing! I hope my blog can help give more women the voice they deserve and to be seen in a way they deserve!
