Meet SolelyAboutNyyyy

RESPECT! That is what women deserve in the sneaker community so my goal is for you to meet some of these women via my blog so you can get an understanding on how they feel. There are 3 major questions that come to mind for this topic:

What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?

Who is one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?

If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?

Who else is better to learn from then the women within the community? Let’s start off with Shanyah, who goes by SoleyAboutNyyyy on IG!

What does respect female sneakerheads mean to you?

Respect female sneakerheads means to me, giving us credit where credit is due. Credit that is genuine, not watered down, or attached to sarcasm.

Tell me about one woman in the sneaker community you look up to and why?

One woman in the sneaker community that I look up to is Teyana Taylor. If you know, you know. She’s literally an OG in the game. She has been the inspiration and blueprint for a ton women within this industry/community for yearssssss. Her style and collection alone is unmatched. She deserves so much more respect and flowers than she’s given.

If you could change one thing about how women are treated and/or perceived in the sneaker community, what would it be?

It would be how were perceived. Women are shape shifters — especially black women. We look and come in so many shapes, sizes, and have soooo many different talents and abilities. Talents and abilities that need to be used and stories that need to be told. We’re not here just to shut up and look cute. Stop playing us small.
